Who We Are
Mission: To uplift and strengthen people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit support community for anyone who has been touched by cancer. A free support community for men, women and children living with any type of cancer, their families and friends. Our innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, education, social activities.
What We Do
Since 2007 the Institute of Medicine has reported that comprehensive medical care of cancer patients must include psychosocial support for the patient and family as well as information on cancer prognosis, treatment benefits and financial costs of treatment. Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit complements the medical component by providing support and education for the cancer patient and their family to help them learn to live with cancer – whatever the outcome.
