Who We Are

Mission: To connect, equip, and mobilize people and organizations to care for land and water in their communities.

Headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI, The Stewardship Network (TSN) is an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a 20-year history of caring for our natural world. With deep roots across the Great Lakes and emerging presences across the country, we continue to build an ever larger and more impactful network of place-based collectives doing the most important work of our lifetimes. Though every TSN Member Community we serve varies in size, shape, and focus, each is a vibrant alliance of diverse stakeholders, working tirelessly and working together.

As a nonprofit with a strong record of apolitical, transformational change leadership, our organization provides a unique function in the conservation community: empowering individuals and organizations of all kinds by facilitating connections between volunteers, practitioners, experts, government agencies, local organizers, tribes, researchers, and anyone else working to craft and implement solutions to a multitude of the most pressing and challenging community conservation problems that pose a threat to our local, native ecosystems.

What We Do

The Stewardship Network is a grassroots conservation organization working on a variety of environmental/conservation efforts to protect, restore, and manage natural lands and waters throughout the US and Canada.

Connect

The Stewardship Network has become an enormous nexus of relevant, specialized knowledge through decades of successful collaboration. While that hard-earned wisdom is leveraged all year long in service of our TSN Member Communities, we chose long ago to dedicate a meaningful portion of our energies to sharing these learnings with the widest audience possible through conferences, competitions, community events, and more.

Equip

The Stewardship Network provides backbone support and technology systems to TSN Member Communities across the nation. Our approach builds inclusivity and diversity into land stewardship efforts and we fully embrace the unique supporting role we play in sparking change through these team efforts.

Mobilize

Through our Member Communities Program, TSN makes collaborative ecological stewardship accessible to everyone, empowering stewards from all walks of life and experience levels to care for our environment together. Every day we build and sustain this diverse network of individuals and organizations to make real impact and generate new solutions to the pressing socio-ecological issues of our time. The work we do with and through our TSN Member Communities is the heart of our organization and is absolutely vital to humanity’s shared future.
