Who We Are
Mission: To find a way to thrive in the world without destroying the earth’s ability to sustain us.
Founded in 1970, the Ecology Center serves one purpose: protecting healthy people and a healthy planet. We believe that the central question of our time is how human beings are going to thrive in the world without destroying the earth’s ability to sustain us.
The Ecology Center Education Team empowers K–12 youth, educators, and families to build healthier, more sustainable communities through innovative environmental education. With a foundation of over 40 years of classroom engagement, we are uniquely positioned to deliver locally relevant, science-based programs that connect environmental issues with real-world solutions.
What We Do
We create and deliver educational resources and hands-on programs focused on renewable energy, green chemistry, climate change, and waste reduction. Our work helps students think critically, take informed action, and connect science to social impact through advocacy, community organizing, and sustainability efforts. We partner with schools to support transformative practices that inspire young people to shape a more just and sustainable future.
