Volunteer: Pink Ambassador VolunteerMaking Strides Against Breast Cancer of Detroit Pink Ambassador Description Location: Virtual and remote within your community Time Commitment: Year-round with an emphasis in August through October To inquire about this volunteer opportunity please contact DetroitMIStrides@cancer.org Role Description: As a Pink Ambassador for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Detroit you will play an active role in recruiting participants for the event, spreading awareness throughout your community, and helping to drive revenue for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Detroit event.
Duties and Responsibilities: Submit donation requests for auction items to be used in the Making Strides silent auction in October, and gift cards to be used for fundraising incentive and/or to reduce operating expenses throughout the year Coordinate with local restaurants and businesses to host Dine and Donates and/or Wall of Hope campaigns Post recruitment messages to personal social media Invite a minimum of five people to the virtual Making Strides Kickoff Breakfast in August Attend community events and health fairs when able, and inform Making Strides staff of opportunities in your community
Skills Required: Ability to engage others through conversation Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Time commitment: A minimum of one monthly call with Strides staff, and email as necessary
Onboarding: An onboarding training will provide you with information and resources to support you with the brand story and an American Cancer Society orientation.
