What Is Ele's Place?
Ele's Place is a healing center for grieving children, teens, young adults, and their families. Each week, peer-to-peer bereavement support groups help hundreds learn to cope and begin to heal after the death of a parent, sibling, or someone close to them.
What Do Support Groups Look Like?
Groups vary from week to week depending on the needs and interests of group members. Volunteers choose from a database of activities, which include scripts and supplies provided by Ele's Place. Activities may include:
- Arts and crafts projects
- Journaling
- Group discussions
- Mindfulness exercises
- Board games
- Icebreakers
We're Currently Looking for Support with the Following Groups:
- PreK and Kindergarten
- Early Elementary (1st-3rd Grade)
- Upper Elementary (4th-5th Grade)
- Middle School (6th-8th Grade)
- High School (9th-12th Grade
Volunteers Will:
- Co-facilitate a weekly support group from 5:45pm to ~8:30pm
- Have availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights from September to June
- Work with another volunteer to plan and facilitate weekly activities
- Pass a background check
- Attend all 2025 Winter Training Dates
- Be supervised and supported by licensed clinicians. No prior experience needed!
2025 Winter Training Dates
Tuesday, January 13th 5:30pm-9pm (virtual)
Wednesday. January 14th 5:30pm-9pm (virtual)
Saturday, January 17th 9am-3pm (in-person)
Note: Participation in all training dates is mandatory
