Volunteer Tax Preparers are needed at Wayne Metro Community Action Agency for the 2018 tax season. As a volunteer, you'll be helping families stay in their homes, put food on the table and save for the future.
Training Requirements:
- Must complete the Volunteer Standard of Conduct exam and Intake/Interview & Quality Review, Basic Tax Law, & Disability Sensitivity Training
- Attend training on January 9th 9am-2pm or January 20th 10am-3pm
Tax Preparer Role and Responsibilities:
- Interview taxpayers using the IRS Intake/Interview & Quality Review Sheet
- Prepare only returns that are within their certification level(s) and within the scope of the program.
- Provide high-quality tax return preparation to taxpayers who qualify for VITA assistance.
- Answer questions and/or use available resources to assist taxpayers
- Maintain taxpayer privacy and confidentiality standards
- Adhere to Quality Site Requirements and Volunteers Standards of Conduct at all times
