Barton Nature Area
9 a.m. to noon
Due to the varied site conditions in this natural area, there are over 230 native plant species present. Help maintain Barton’s diversity by hand-pulling spotted knapweed and other invasive plant species that threaten the native habitats of this natural area. If time allows, we may also use handsaws and loppers to cut invasive shrubs. Please meet at the Barton Dam parking lot at the corner of Huron River Drive and Bird Road.
Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. All minors must present a completed release form, and should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools, snacks, and know-how provided. Free.
