By helping us organize this large collection, volunteers ensure that every child, family, and community partner can quickly access the right books at the right time. Volunteers may also unwrap and unbox pallets of food, collapse boxes for recycling and dispose of plastic waste. These tasks require moderate levels of activity, bending and lifting. A full line of volunteers is usually able to pack over 500 boxes of food for our seniors! DRESS CODE:
Comfortable attire and shoes are welcome. The warehouse temperature may fluctuate with the seasons, so layers are encouraged. Volunteer: Weekly Program VolunteerThe Children’s Healing Center is the first year-round recreation facility providing social and emotional healing for kids with weakened immune systems and their families in a safe, clean environment. We utilize volunteers for all of our programs and would love for you to join us for a weekly shift at the Center. Monday morning (9:30am-12:30pm) Fun programs focused on pre-school aged kiddos Includes ABC & Me series and other fun, play-related activitiesTuesday evening (5:30-8:30pm) Family-focused programs that includes dinner 1-2 times each monthWednesday afternoon (1:30-4:30pm) - through September Free play program focused on pre-school aged kidsHas a planned craft and open play in the gym or exploratory play roomWednesday (9:30-12:00, 11:00-1:00, 12:00-2:30) - starting October 1 Starting October 1 we'll have open hours from 10:00-2:00pmThere will be a planned craft and families are welcome to bring their lunch to enjoy at the CenterYou're welcome to join for a portion or all of the program time

Volunteer: Serve Others: Kitchen ManagersThe Kitchen Manager: This person is task oriented and operates well within time constraints. They are driven by the results of their work and how those results positively affect people in need. They are naturally helpful and great observers. They enjoy building relationships with others and are not shy in supporting their peers. They would make a great sous chef or operations manager. This volunteer opportunity supports our Sunday meal service by directing volunteers, preparing and serving meals, packaging food, cleaning tables in the dining room and offering a smile and kind word to those we feed.
