Volunteer: American Lung Association Office Volunteers

We're looking for volunteers to assist with in-office activities that support the American Lung Association's missions and initiatives. Following the terrific success of the Fight For Air Climb in Detroit, and are now preparing for our LUNG FORCE Walk in October and our engagement at the Detroit Free Press Marathon in October! We would love to rally the support of our volunteer community as we move forward in planning our next events and campaigns.

We're looking for volunteers to assist with in-office operations that help keep us on track with our event planning and community engagement. Projects could include:

General office support (filing, sorting, stuffing envelopes, etc.) Mailing event / campaign items (packaging, labeling, etc.) Making phone calls to event participants with reminder messages (phone, messaging and more will be provided) Helping with a current campaign project - folding shirts, packaging supplies, etc.

Many of our volunteer opportunities can accommodate differently-abled individuals and we encourage you to reach out to learn more. In addition, we do offer some community-based and virtual volunteer opportunities as well!

Volunteers like you help provide the support our team needs to ensure that the American Lung Association can stay on top of fighting for clean air and healthy lungs and continue advocating for those struggling with lung disease!

Please feel free to indicate your availability to assist in our office and we will schedule you accordingly. We hope to see you soon!

Secure building illuminations across the state - buildings and community landmarks will be turning turquoise to raise awareness of lung cancer and lung disease Identify and engage with local media personalities to join us in raising awareness through local TV, radio and online channels Plan and host local and virtual engagement events to bring together our community to raise funds and awareness for lung cancer and in support of lung disease such as donation events in local restaurants, local wellness classes such as yoga or spin classes, and other turquoise-themed events Support outreach and promotion efforts leading up to and during Turquoise Takeover

The Committee meets from March-May about every 3 weeks or so leading up to Lung Cancer Action Week.
