Volunteer Responsibilities:

Sort, stock, and organize food donations and pantry shelves

Pack grocery boxes and bags for distribution

Assist with pantry setup, restocking, and cleanup

Help load food boxes and groceries into vehicles during drive-through distributions

Provide friendly service and support to community members visiting the pantry

What to Expect:

Shifts typically last 2–4 hours

Some lifting (10–25 lbs.) may be required when handling food boxes or supplies

Great opportunity for individuals, pairs, or small groups

What to Wear/Bring:

Dress warmly and in layers — some tasks take place outdoors

Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes suitable for standing or lifting

Gloves are recommended for handling boxes or working outside

Bring a water bottle and any personal items you may need during your shift

Your time and support help provide healthy food to hundreds of Detroit residents each week. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community.
