2026 Global Volunteer Month

Global Volunteer Month is celebrated annually in April, a time when we celebrate volunteers while encouraging volunteerism throughout the community.
In celebration of Global Volunteer Month, United Way provides multiple volunteer opportunities as well as volunteer recognition initiatives throughout the month.
April 16: United Way and SOS Community Services
United Way and SOS Community Services are co-hosting a volunteer project to increase access to reading materials through literacy kits. Volunteers will assemble literacy kits for families in the Parents as Teachers program. Each kit supports one child for months in reading, language and bonding activities with their families and caregivers.
