Dr. James E. Vernor Elementary School, serving grades Pre-K to 6, has established a firm academic foundation where students are fully prepared through STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning experiences  to prepare students for higher learning opportunities and readiness for future careers. Vernor has been graded an “A” on our School Report Card by the Michigan Department of Education and named one of the city’s Top-Performing schools by Excellent Schools Detroit. Ongoing partnerships include the University of Michigan, Michigan State, Wayne State , Go Green Challenge Initiative and DTE Think Energy Outreach programs.
