Who We Are
Mission: To improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Our Global Headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia, and we have regional and local offices throughout the country to ensure we have a presence in every community.
What We Do
At the American Cancer Society, we attack cancer from every angle. We promote healthy lifestyles, fund and conduct groundbreaking research, advocate for lifesaving policy changes, and provide 24/7 support for everyone affected by cancer.
We work to prevent cancer, detect it early, ensure access to care, and support patients and caregivers through every step of the journey. Every day, we fight to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer—saving lives and creating lasting change.
