Who We Are
Mission: To serve and empower all people in need in the Redford Community by assisting with basic food, clothing, and referrals.
Redford Interfaith Relief is a coalition of member churches with individuals and organizations to end hunger and poverty in the Redford Community. RIR will serve as a premier model client-choice food pantry that promotes the hope and dignity of our clients by providing them with resources to encourage self-sufficiency. We will be in the vanguard of serving individuals in need, working and advocating to transform the Redford community into one where hunger is eradicated and poverty is reduced.
What We Do
At RIR, we provide essential support to individuals and families through our emergency food, nutrition, and clothing programs:
- Client Choice Emergency Food Pantry – Clients can shop once a month in our healthy, nutritionally balanced pantry, choosing from fresh produce, frozen meats, canned goods, baked items, cereals, personal care products, and household supplies.
- TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) – In partnership with the USDA, we offer additional monthly food distributions for qualifying low-income individuals and families.
- Senior Liquid Nutrition Program – Through Wayne County Senior Services, we distribute Ensure nutritional supplements monthly to eligible seniors age 60 and older.
- Clothing Boutique- During food appointments, clients may shop once a month for free clothing for adults, children, and infants, with sizes ranging from 0 to 6XX (when available).
At RIR, our volunteers are dedicated to providing food, clothing, and care to help our community thrive.
