Detroit Opera is the premier multi-disciplined producer and presenter for opera, musical theatre, and dance in the Great Lakes Region. We are dedicated to engaging diverse audiences with exceptional performances and cultural enrichment programs while fostering a welcoming environment through the passion and dedication of our volunteers. Together, we celebrate the arts and create lasting connections that uplift and unite our community.

Based in the city of Detroit, we engage artists of national and international stature for stellar main stage and outreach performances, and provides compelling cultural enrichment programs for the diverse audiences and communities that it serves, making it one of Detroit’s pillars of arts and culture.

Volunteers are the heart of all we do! They are ambassadors for Detroit Opera, and the city of Detroit, warmly welcoming patrons from near and far, to the beautiful, 100-year-old Detroit Opera House for an experience they will cherish forever.
