Who We Are
Mission: To foster relationships of kindness, gentleness, generosity and mercy among ourselves, and to support and encourage each other in works of mercy.
Mercy House is an Ann Arbor resident’s home that has opened its doors to the homeless. The home is a refuge during the day for Washtenaw County residents who need shelter from the winter weather, as well as companionship, warm meals, and use of amenities. In the tradition of the Dorothy Day House of Hospitality, this residency seeks to bless others by providing shower facilities, washers and dryers, and even emergency housing.
What We Do
Where we provide food and a communal space for the community to come together to combat homelessness. Mercy House has open hours for laundry and a shower for those in the homeless community. It is based on a first come, first helped in having access to the house. When possible there is donated clothing and produce for everyone to choose from. All Meals are served to be on-the-go. Guests are also welcome to eat at the picnic tables. All meals are provided by the generous people and organizations of the community.
