Who We Are
Mission: To foster community stewardship and enhance the beauty, accessibility, and sustainability of Ann Arbor’s parks by building collaborative partnerships between volunteers and the Parks and Recreation department.
Adopt-a-Park is a volunteer-driven program in partnership with the City of Ann Arbor’s Parks and Recreation department, dedicated to maintaining and beautifying local parks. Through long-term partnerships with individuals, neighborhood groups, schools, businesses, and community organizations, we support collaborative stewardship of our shared green spaces. With guidance from the Adopt-a-Park Coordinator, volunteers receive planning support, tools, supplies, and coordination with city services to make lasting improvements based on their interests and availability.
What We Do
Adopt-a-Park connects community members with opportunities to care for Ann Arbor parks through flexible, hands-on activities. Volunteers participate in projects such as planting and maintaining flower beds, weeding, trail upkeep, painting, mulching, and litter cleanup. We offer support tailored to each group’s goals—whether you’re a student club, local business, or individual—and can host structured volunteer workdays with city staff assistance. No experience is necessary—just a willingness to make a positive impact in your community. To foster community stewardship and enhance the beauty, accessibility, and sustainability of Ann Arbor’s parks by building collaborative partnerships between volunteers and the Parks and Recreation department.
