Who We Are
Mission: To eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Founded in 1980 by caregivers and advocates, the Association has grown into a national leader in the fight against Alzheimer’s, offering vital resources for those affected and driving progress toward a cure. We serve millions of individuals and families across the country.
What We Do
The Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter provides free programs and services to the more than 190,000 Michiganders living with dementia and their 466,000 caregivers. Through support groups, educational workshops, advocacy, and a 24/7 Helpline, we empower individuals with information, guidance, and community. As the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s research, we are committed to advancing scientific discovery. We also train and support volunteers to expand outreach, provide care resources, and raise awareness at the local and state level. Together, we are working to end Alzheimer’s and ensure that no one faces the disease alone.
