Who We Are
Mission: To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise to care for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors.
At VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, our health care teams are deeply experienced and guided by the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers. VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System depends on the goodwill of our supporters.
Each year community volunteers give selflessly of their time and resources in service to America’s Veterans. It is impossible to calculate the amount of caring and sharing that these volunteers provide to Veteran patients. VA volunteers are a priceless asset to the Nation’s Veterans and to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Voluntary Service Department assists Veteran patients by augmenting staff with end of life care programs, foster care, community-based volunteer programs, hospital wards, nursing homes, and Veteran outreach centers.
What We Do
We depend on the goodwill and generosity of our donors and volunteers. By volunteering your time or making a donation, you can give something back to Veterans who have given so much to our country. As a volunteer, you’ll provide many important services throughout our health care system and help make Veterans’ visits to our facilities more rewarding. Volunteers can perform a number of services, and a volunteer’s talents are closely matched with one of our many assignments.
