Description

St. Patrick Senior Center is hosting its 41st Irish Festival in the heart of Midtown Detroit. The festival will take place from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018. The center is located at 58 Parsons St. in Midtown Detroit. Admission into the festival is $5.00 and they are expecting upwards of 1500 individuals. The Irish Festival is our biggest fundraising event of the year; the proceeds go toward our senior programs and activities (e.g. medical transportation, clinic, fitness classes, etc.).

For 41 years the St. Patrick Irish Festival has been a long standing tradition and a staple in the Midtown Detroit area. This festival will capture Irish culture such as traditional folk music, live entertainment featuring; Arden School of Irish Dance, The Fraternal Order of United Irishmen’s Chowder Society singing group and the Codgers. There will be a variety of games to play including sports, action, and dance.

Founded by Sr. Mary Watson in 1973, St. Pat’s Center serves over 2,000 seniors in metro Detroit. It is the largest activity center in Detroit dedicated to serving seniors and the city’s largest congregate meal site. It provides daily meals, health and wellness services and social activities. In addition, the center offers services connecting seniors to community resources to support independent living. For more information, visit www.stpatsrctr.org or call 313-833-7080.
