ARTS ON THE MIND:
UNDERSTANDING DEMENTIA THROUGH THE ARTS
We are excited to invite you and your organization to our annual Spring Conference, Arts on the Mind: Understanding Dementia Through the Arts, on Tuesday, March 5th, 2018, at the Washtenaw Community College Morris Lawrence Building.
We are pleased to announce the Alzheimer’s Association, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter is collaborating with the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Center as we continue to grow and expand our conference. Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the 2018 conference, we ask that you register as soon as possible for our 2019 event.
Join us for a day of personal and professional enrichment as we explore the myriad of ways in which art can be beneficial throughout a person's journey with dementia. Conference speakers will discuss the benefits of incorporating the arts in dementia care, the latest findings in research regarding art and brain health, as well as a special performance by the Kickshaw Theatre Company depicting an eye-opening story through the perspective of Molly, a woman living with dementia. All of the speakers will also be part of a Q&A panel at the end of the day's events. Speakers and attendees will be a mix of professionals in the field and people who are on their own caregiving journey.
We hope you will leave with new and creative ways of looking at dementia care and some practical tips on how to incorporate art into your daily routines - either at work or at home.
REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON
FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2019
