Michelle Obama and Healthy America presents "Pass the Love" Family Food Distribution

Distribution will be held at Inkster Food Center 759 Inkster Rd. Inkster, MI 48141
Purpose:
Over four weeks in July, 5,500 Detroit families will receive meal kits, with recipes and ingredients inspired by the Netflix series, "Waffles + Mochi." The Partnership for a Healthier America and Focus: HOPE plan to distribute 264,00 healthy meals to families in Detroit and a total of 1 million meals across the country.
Every Thursday through July (beginning July 8th), volunteers will be distributing food boxes to families in the metropolitan Detroit area. We will have volunteers at our 3 facilities (East side, West side, and Inkster). The shifts are 9:30a-1p and 12:30p-3:30p.
- Loading the vehicles with the 2 packages (dry goods and produce).
- Directing cars into the parking lot
- Registering recipients on site if they have not pre-registered.
What to wear:
This is an outdoor event, dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes. Bring water bottles.
COVID Policy and Practices: Safety is our #1 priority. We will be practicing social distancing, and following safety guidelines outlined by state and federal regulations. Masks will be required to volunteer.
