Join the Ann Arbor Parks Volunteer Program for a special community volunteer event as we help welcome the park’s new splash pad with the creation of a colorful outdoor mural.
As part of the recent park renovations, volunteers will assist with painting a pre-designed mural on the exterior wall of the restroom and changing building. This project is designed to be fun and accessible for all skill levels—think of it as a community paint-by-number experience! No artistic experience is necessary.
This volunteer event is a great opportunity to help add creativity, color, and community pride to one of Ann Arbor’s updated park spaces while celebrating a major improvement for neighborhood families and visitors.
Staff will provide all supplies, materials, and guidance throughout the event.
Come help bring this mural to life and leave a lasting mark on Bicentennial Park!
Event Details:
Date: Wednesday, July 8, 2026
Time: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Meeting location: Meet in the paved parking lot at the entrance of Bicentennial Park.
What to wear and bring:
Comfortable clothing appropriate for warm weather
Clothes and shoes that can get paint or dirt on them
A reusable water bottle
We provide all painting supplies and materials
Please note:
Some activities may involve standing for extended periods or reaching overhead
Work areas may have uneven surfaces or minor tripping hazards
All minors must be accompanied by a guardian
