The economic impact of poverty and COVID-19 continue to have a devastating effect on our workers and their families. Access to gainful employment opportunities, adequate childcare, affordable healthcare, and proper nutrition continue to pose barriers to our economic recovery. Feeding our city's children and families remain a serious challenge and we are working hard to meet their need.
As the 2023 Thanksgiving holiday season approaches, we are recruiting volunteers to support Wayne County Commissioner Irma Clark-Coleman and Living Waters Church 17th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Blessing Giveaway at Union Carpenters & Millwrights Training Center in Detroit. Volunteers are needed to distribute turkeys and side items via Drive Thru Line.
Volunteers are needed on:
- Monday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Living Waters Church (26505 W. Chicago, Redford, 48239)
- Tuesday, Nov. 21, from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Union Carpenters & Millwrights Training Center (11687 American St., Detroit, 48204)
