First Step is seeking a patient and thoughtful volunteer to assist one of our staff members with children's homework. The children are those who are staying in our Shelter environment, and who range in age from K-12.
This opportunity is a recurring to help the children feel comfortable with the volunteer and to maximize the impact of a caring adult/child relationship. We would also like to see the ability to support the children's self-esteem and progress in the educational environment.
What you as a volunteer can expect:
- Staff present and able to assist.
- No bathroom or diaper responsibility.
