We're thrilled to be returning to Comerica Park on Sunday, May 21 for our 17th annual Fight For Air Climb!

This open-air stair-climbing event raises vital funds and awareness to support a world free from lung disease. As one of the largest Fight For Air Climb events in the nation, we are looking to connect with awesome volunteers in the area to join us for this impactful event and rally support for healthy lungs. Last year more than 1,300 participants and volunteers joined us, including nearly 300 firefighters and first responders!
Help make the event a success by volunteering on event day - May 21 - or join us for pre-event activities.
Volunteer shifts will be available all event weekend with more than 150 volunteers joining us on Sunday. Shifts will be on average 4-6 hours in length and will fall between our event hours of 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
There's something for everyone on event weekend to help with - whether volunteering individually or as part of a group - we'd love to have you. We can always use a hand with preparing the event at setup and wrapping up a successful event during tear down. Help cheer on our Climbers - including hundreds of firefighters and first responders - by serving as a Route Guide, joining us in the Cheer Tunnel, or manning a refreshment station. Perhaps you want to get your steps in too - help us mark the route or serve as a customer service runner. Of course, volunteers are always needed to help at our check-in tables and Climb Celebration area on the Pepsi Porch or serve as a friendly face to greet and direct event attendees throughout Comerica Park.
Volunteer opportunities are available for high school students when volunteering with an adult or parent/guardian. A signed parent/guardian waiver is required in advance of event day.
