Book lovers unite... Join Brilliant Detroit on June 29th for our first annual read-a-thon! We are celebrating literacy by leading read-alouds, play fun literacy games, giving out books, and more! You may even meet one of our celebrity readers! This event is taking place on Saturday, June 29th at multiple sites and multiple times!
We are looking for volunteers to help lead our literacy game stations or help with resource tables, about 4-5 volunteers per site. We may also need 2-4 volunteers to lead a read-a-long with the kids.
This event will be hosted at the following sites:
- Cody Rouge (7425 Fielding St, Detroit MI 48228) - 12pm-4:30pm
- Brightmoor (15509 Heyden, Detroit MI 48223) - 11am-3:30pm
- Springwells (9104 Rathbone, Detroit MI 48209) - 10am-3:30pm
- Central (803 Hazelwood, Detroit MI 48202) - 12pm-4:30pm
- Osborn (13800 Eastburn, Detroit MI 48205) - 11am-3:30pm
We kindly ask that all volunteers stay for the duration of their shift! Depending on the weather, some activities may be out doors, so please dress accordingly!
