Our Littlefield hub is celebrating literacy with an Easter-themed Literacy Day! We are looking for volunteers to support the event and its various stations. There are two volunteer shifts. The earlier shift will be focused on setting up the event. Tasks will include food preparation, setting up tables, chairs, and preparing the activity stations. The later volunteer shift will be supporting the event itself. Tasks will include facilitating the stations, reading books, and helping serve food.
This event will be taking place outside at our Littlefield hub (12789 Indiana St), so please make sure to dress for the weather!
Also please note our volunteer policy in regards to COVID-19:
Brilliant Detroit In-Person COVID-19 Volunteer Guidelines
All in-person volunteers must be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Please either provide us with a proof of vaccination before coming to volunteer or when you arrive at the event.
We recommend that you wear a mask when volunteering, especially when indoors, as some community members are not yet vaccinated. We will have masks available if you would like one.
If you are experiencing a fever, any symptoms of COVID-19, or test positive for COVID-19 anytime between signing up to volunteer and the volunteer event itself, please contact us. We will ask you to fill out a short form confirming that you have not experienced any symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19 when you arrive to volunteer.
Please wash your hands after touching your face and before and after handling food or program materials. Please avoid any unnecessary contact with any individuals (participants, staff, other volunteers).
Some volunteer events may include food. At this time our food policy is as follows; shared meals will be limited. Food can be prepared and taken home to eat, but consuming meals together is prohibited.
Note that the policies above are subject to change as the COVID-19 situation evolves. We will notify you of any significant changes. Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. Our top priority is the safety and health of all Brilliant Detroit constituents.
Please reach out to Aryeh Perlman at aperlman@brilliantdetroit.org with any questions. Hope to see you there!
