Volunteers are the lifeblood of MADD—full of passion and compassion for our mission. Join our army of ordinary citizens who’ve become extraordinary activists in saving lives and preventing injuries.
Whether you’re interested in volunteering a couple of times a year or a couple of times a week, there’s a place for you at MADD. And we have a wide variety of opportunities to match your interests and expertise. Some options include:
- Advise a Board: Consider a Community Leadership role by serving on our state Advisory Board
- Advocate for Change: Work to Strengthen Existing Laws and Pass New Ones
- Community Outreach: Help Table and Spread Awareness of MADD’s Services and Mission at Community Events, and Fairs
- Court Monitoring: Attend Court to Monitor Cases of DUI/OWI Offenders to make sure Justice is being Served
- Flex Some Power: Inspire Youth, Train Parents, and or Mobilize Communities to Prevent Underage Drinking and reduce alcohol access to youth
- Give a Hand: Answer phones, make copies, or perform other Office Support duties
- Help Victims Be Heard: Help Coordinate Victim Impact Panels, or Help Organize Speaking Events to Educate others about the Cost of Drunk and Drugged Driving
- Helpline: Answer and Respond to Victims, and Survivors with MADD Services and Resources
- Honor Heroes: Recognize Law Enforcement and First Responders at shift briefings, events, and at our annual Law Enforcement Recognition Luncheon to say thank you
- Join a Board Committee: Help the Advisory Board Chairs expand programming, fundraise, serve more Victims and Survivors, spread awareness, and create a Stronger MADD MI
- Lend a Shoulder: Become a trained volunteer Victim Advocate or a Help Line volunteer and provide Emotional Support to Victims and Survivors
- Peer Support: Help and Speak with Victims, Survivors, and their Families who are experiencing similar trauma from a Substance Impaired Driving Crash
- Research: Keep Victim Resources Up to Date, and Assist with Outreach, and Help Staff
- Roll Up Your Sleeves: Help set up Events, run an Information Booth, or attend Community Fairs
- Speakers Bureau: Talk to Audiences of all Ages about MADD’s Mission and How to Get Involved
- Special Events: Help MADD Plan, Attend and Execute Events Across the State and in your Home Town for Victim Services, Fundraisers, and Educational Events
- Spread Awareness: Assist Victim Services Staff with Community Outreach, Coalition Building, and Attending Events
- Take Steps to Raise Funds: Sign up and Fundraise for Walk Like MADD, Help Staff gain Sponsorships, Build Community Relationships, or help Raise Funds for MADD
- Victim Advocate: Work Directly with Victims and Survivors in your Community to get them the assistance they need
