Victim Impact Panels (VIPs) allow victims/survivors an opportunity to heal by sharing their personal stories of bereavement, injuries, and loss with an audience of receptive participants. Volunteer Victim Impact Panel Coordinators play an important part in helping to reduce future victimizations through presenting effective VIPs, which educate participants to the hazards of impaired driving and motivate participants to make responsible decisions about drinking and driving in the future.
Skills/Training Requirements:
- Background check
- Completion of MADD orientation
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Non-judgmental attitude when working with people convicted of alcohol-related offenses
- Reliable transportation
- Flexible schedule as most panels are held in the evenings
Time Commitment: 10 hours per month; one year commitment.
This opportunity will take place out in the community near your home and location will be determined with you after you register. Volunteer orientation will take place at the MADD offices (address listed below).
