Mission: To create better futures for themselves and improve the communities in which they live.
The Arrowwood Hills Co-Op is made up of 350 townhouses situated on a landscaped, 44-acre lot on the north side of Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2014, the neighborhood’s community center became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to provide greater outreach to its community members and residents of Washtenaw County. In 2019, Community Action Network was invited to operate all of its programs and services out of the Arrowwood Hills Community Center in partnership with the community.
What We Do
Educating Children & Youth Free 6-week Educational Summer Camp designed to prevent summer learning loss Free After School Program that provides homework & reading support, enrichment activities, social-emotional development, snack, and more CAN Art & Design program in which students develop creative skill sets to inquire, design, build, and connect with their broader community School-Family Liaison Services stabilizing Families Food distributions on the 2nd Friday of every month from 11am-1pm for Arrowwood Hills Co-Op residents Holiday gift support (for Arrowwood Hills Co-Op families) Referrals to additional Washtenaw County resources Free food is provided to the children & youth attending Arrowwood Hills’s After School and Summer Programs Building Community Regular holiday and community parties/events Relationship-building between teachers, CAN & Arrowwood Hills staff, and families
