Who We Are
Mission: To transform young aspiring artists by providing education, enrichment and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, exposure, and mentorships that launch creative careers and lasting connections, and infuse the community with art and creative experiences, supporting positive and healthy cultures.
Mint is a small nonprofit based in Palmer Park, Detroit, run by a group of artists, entrepreneurs and educators working for the good of youth in Detroit. We teach entrepreneurship, career and life skills and create community art projects and opportunities for youth. Mint fills a big hole in the Detroit cultural scene, which has many youth organizations focused on dance, music, theater, stories and poetry. Until now, none concentrated on visual arts or creatively taught business and career skills to creative young people. With Mint’s fresh entrepreneurial focus, we intend to thrive and add to the economic success stories that are gaining momentum in Detroit.
What We Do
Mint Artists Guild guides talented Detroit teen artists to learn, grow and thrive in creative careers or as entrepreneurs and serve their communities. Mint Artists trains and grows creative Detroit area teens into artists who thrive in creative careers and as engaged, generous citizens. As we teach creative young people business skills and tools of success and engage and pay them for creative projects and services, Mint opens doors to economic empowerment, social change and creative and life changing opportunities.
