Who We Are
Bessie Senior Connect was founded in 2017 by Tresna Tupper and 3 Co-founders. We are caregivers and love helping our Seniors, we also love riding motorcycles. Our name pays homage to the work and legacy of fellow rider, Ms. Bessie Stringfield. We are giving back to our community by connecting our seniors to a variety of needed services. Since then, Bessie Senior Connect has expanded the care to homebound seniors in the Metro Detroit area. We strive to provide comfort and care to our seniors. "This is why we ride and serve"
The name Bessie came from paying homage to Bessie Stringfield born 1911-1993, an African American Woman who had 27 motorcycles and broke through racial and gender barriers during the pre-Civil Rights Era. Bessie’s riding career included civilian service work as a motorcycle dispatch rider during World War II. Her career as a rider spanned 6 decades in which she traveled around the USA 8 times.
