Who We Are

Mission: To save lives by meeting the most critical needs of our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

For over 40 years, Susan G. Komen has been driven by a sisterly promise to end breast cancer. Through groundbreaking research, community outreach, advocacy, and global programs, we’ve helped reduce breast cancer mortality by more than 42% and supported the approval of 19 new treatments in the past decade. With nearly $3.6 billion invested across 60 countries, we remain steadfast in our mission to create a world without breast cancer.

What We Do

Susan G. Komen is the ONLY organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease.

From serving as a local brand ambassador and raising critical funds for our mission programs to helping breathe life into our signature fundraising events like the MORE THAN PINK Walk, Race for the Cure, and BigWig celebrations, as well as educational events like the Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) conference and Advocacy Summit, we have unique volunteer opportunities for everyone who wants to help us create lasting change in the lives of those facing a breast cancer diagnosis.
