Who We Are
Mission: To serve all individuals and families by connecting them to resources that improve their lives.
The Community Resource Center (CRC) is a nonprofit organization that has supported the residents of Manchester and the surrounding townships for over 30 years. Founded to meet local needs, CRC is a trusted hub for essential services, referrals, and community engagement. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work together to ensure that individuals and families facing hardship have access to the tools and resources needed to improve their well-being and build a more resilient community.
What We Do
CRC offers a wide range of support services to meet the diverse needs of our community:
-
Basic Needs Assistance: Access to a choice-based food pantry with fresh and nutritious items, emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and medical needs, and connections to public benefits like WIC and State Emergency Relief.
-
Workforce and Financial Support: Onsite MIWorks! job seeker assistance, free tax preparation through the VITA program, and access to technology for job and benefits applications.
-
Health and Family Services: Referrals to mental health services, Medicare assistance, senior nutrition, vision and hearing support through the Lions Club, and access to the WIC program.
-
Education and Literacy: Financial coaching, reading and writing support through Washtenaw Literacy, and educational tools to support financial and digital literacy.
-
Community Engagement: Hosting the Volunteer Recognition Banquet, coordinating with local organizations, and encouraging volunteerism throughout Manchester.
-
Seasonal and Special Programs: Manchester Baby Baskets, USDA food distributions, Manchester Farmers Market tokens, and a Winter Farmers Market partnership.
At CRC, we believe in offering a hand up, not just a hand out—empowering individuals and families with the tools and resources they need to thrive.
