

Who We Are
Mission: To support the Burns Park Elementary PTO and other local school PTOs through our “Run for Schools” program.
The Burns Park Run was started by the PTO as a fundraiser for 6th grade campers in 1979. The Burns Park Run is a long-standing and successful fundraiser, organized and run entirely by volunteers, that supports Burns Park Elementary PTO programs. Now in its 37th year, this Burns Park Elementary fundraiser has grown and symbiotically supported the activities able to be offered by our PTO to its students and their families.
What We Do
The race features a 5K, 10K and 1/2 mile Fun Run, annually drawing 1300-1500 participants and requiring up to 130 volunteers to conduct. Today’s race is headed by 2 race co-directors and ~130 volunteers working throughout the year on planning, funding, marketing and staffing the Burns Park Run.
