Who We Are
Mission: To empower underserved communities through culturally rooted food justice, inclusive entrepreneurship, and wraparound support programs that promote economic sustainability, wellness, and equity in the food and hospitality industries.
Joyful Treats Community Development Corporation (JTCDC) is a Michigan-based national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to celebrating and preserving diverse culinary heritage while advancing social and economic equity. Minority-owned and rooted in community service, JTCDC uplifts vulnerable populations whose economic, physical, or mental health challenges impact their ability to meet basic needs. Through culturally centered programs, we empower youth, low-income individuals, and communities of color, while promoting financial sustainability and inclusive entrepreneurship in the food and hospitality industries.
What We Do
JTCDC provides wraparound support and community-driven initiatives that promote equity, wellness, and opportunity. Our impact includes:
- Weekly food distribution
- Serving as a business incubator for small entrepreneurs in need of office space
- Hosting monthly economic empowerment and nutrition workshops
- Coordinating annual back-to-school supply giveaways
- Acting as a Champion location for Small Business Saturday to promote local buying
- Supporting young entrepreneurs (ages 15–25) and historically excluded communities in pursuing sustainable careers in food and hospitality
Through our programs and partnerships, we work to create a more just and inclusive community—one plate, one business, and one person at a time.
