Who We Are
Mission: To meet our patients and families where they are with urgency, purpose and compassionate accountability surrounding them with decades of dedicated hospice expertise.
At Hospice of Michigan, we believe no one should face the end of life alone. Everyone has the right to spend their final months free of physical, emotional and spiritual pain in an environment where they are most secure. By providing exceptional medical care to patients and expert caregiver support – delivered by capable, dedicated, compassionate professionals – we help families focus on what’s most important to them.
Founded more than 40 years ago by a diverse group of community volunteers, Hospice of Michigan is the state’s pioneer not-for-profit hospice organization. Today, Hospice of Michigan serves more than 4,000 patients annually in 50 counties across the lower peninsula. As the most experienced provider of hospice care in Michigan, Hospice of Michigan is also the largest not-for-profit hospice in the state, and among the largest recognized 501c3 not-for-profit advanced illness management organizations in the nation.
What We Do
Hospice of Michigan provides care for all—regardless of age, diagnosis, or financial circumstances. Last year, our commitment extended $4 million beyond what was reimbursed by insurance. Because we welcome those who are uninsured, or whose treatment is more expensive than what other hospices can provide, we depend on the financial support of donors for the treatments, medications, services, grief support, and spiritual care of patients and families in need.
