Who We Are
Mission: To enhance the passenger and visitor experience by providing exceptional customer service, while conveying helpful information and friendly guidance with a patient, positive attitude reflective of our community.
The Airport Ambassadors at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) are a dedicated team of volunteers creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the airport’s millions of travelers. Representing the spirit of Detroit and Southeast Michigan, our Ambassadors provide a personal touch to one of the world’s leading air transportation hubs. With DTW serving more than 35 million passengers annually through over 1,100 daily flights, our volunteers play a vital role in ensuring a smooth, customer-friendly travel experience. The Ambassador Program is part of DTW’s broader commitment, under the Wayne County Airport Authority, to operational excellence and world-class service.
What We Do
Airport Ambassadors provide on-the-ground support to travelers by offering directions, information, and assistance throughout DTW’s award-winning terminals. Stationed at information desks and roaming the terminals, Ambassadors help passengers navigate flight details, baggage claim, ground transportation options, and airport amenities. With their knowledge, patience, and professionalism, Ambassadors enhance the airport experience, making one of North America’s busiest and most efficient airports even more welcoming and accessible for visitors from around the world.
