Who We Are

The Ypsilanti Farmers Markets are a staple in the Ypsilanti community. We provide a way for local people (residents and those who work in the area) to purchase local, fresh, and healthy food. We also provide a space for local growers, producers, and makers to sell their products. We believe in the power of healthy food and local economies!

The Ypsilanti Farmers Markets are run by Growing Hope, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission is to foster an equitable and sustainable local food system where all people are empowered to grow, sell, buy, prepare, and eat nourishing food.

We hold a weekly farmers markets throughout the year

May - October  Saturdays in Downtown Ypsilanti from 9AM -1PM at 16 S Washington Street

What We Do

Volunteers are an essential part in helping the Farmers Markets run smoothly and efficiently. By doing everything from setting up and tearing down, to facilitating special events and activities, and helping facilitate surveys and customer counts. Markets take a lot of energy to put on, and we need your support to help make our markets happen!

The Markets are held outside unless there is a thunderstorm. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, including closed toes shoes (no flip flops or open toe shoes are allowed on site). We recommend bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack.

Please note our volunteer work days are set up for individual adults, adult groups or families. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be supervised by their guardian, and a separate liability waiver will need to be signed.
