Growing Hope, Ypsilanti Farmers Markets

Who We Are

The Ypsilanti Farmers Markets are a longtime staple in our community, connecting neighbors, workers, and visitors with fresh, local, and healthy food. We also create space for local growers, producers, and makers to share what they’ve created and earn income close to home. At the heart of it all, we believe in the power of nourishing food and strong local economies.

The markets are operated by Growing Hope, a Ypsilanti-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our mission is to build an equitable and sustainable local food system where everyone has the opportunity to grow, sell, buy, prepare, and eat nourishing food.

WEEKLY FARMERS MARKETS:

May - October  Saturdays in Downtown Ypsilanti from 9AM -1PM at 16 S Washington Street

June - August Tuesdays in Downtown Ypsilanti from 3PM -7PM at 16 S Washington Street

What We Do

Volunteers are an essential part in helping the Farmers Markets run smoothly and efficiently. You'll get to assist with setting up, facilitating special events and activities, taking surveys and customer counts, running our Information Booth, and tearing everything down. Markets take a lot of energy to put on, and we rely on neighbor support to make it happen!

The Ypsilanti Farmers Markets are rain or shine, but in the event of a severe storm we will cancel the night prior. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, including closed toes shoes (no flip flops or open toe shoes are allowed on site). We recommend bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack. Check the weather the morning of the market!

Please note our volunteer work days are set up for individual adults, adult groups, or families. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be supervised by their guardian, and a separate liability waiver will need to be signed.

We can't wait to work with you!
