The partnership between DTE Energy and United Way for Southeastern Michigan is long-standing:
DTE was fundamental in the implementation of Michigan's 2-1-1 service, as well as pivotal in the creation, execution and follow-through of unique programs that address systematic issues, like our Low-Income Self-Sufficiency Plan, and prototyping volunteers as Community Care Advocates.
DTE has supported national Job Shadow days, and a variety of other volunteer projects, as well as having several executive team members who serve on boards and committees throughout the region.
United Way for Southeastern Michigan's BHAG - our Big, Hairy, Audacious Goal of making Detroit a top 5 place to live and work by 2030 - was actually created within a conference room at DTE.
With their generosity, United Way is able to provide utility assistance to thousands of individuals and families within the Metro Detroit area. For the past several months, DTE has offered two outstanding volunteers to United Way as Community Care Advocates in 2-1-1.
Thank you, DTE Energy!
