When you see that red bullseye, you may think "shopping spree," but we think "volunteering."

That's because Target, a long-time partner and supporter of United Way, has a rich history of giving back to their communities. Team members across the country gives hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours every month, and the team members here in Metro Detroit are no exception.

Target employees throughout Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties have participated in five United Way for Southeastern Michigan volunteer projects this year, three of which were during National Volunteer Week - a week-long celebration of dedicated individuals who give back to their community - and included packing food boxes, serving meals to the homeless, and assisting in a local children's Head Start program. Already this year, Target employees in our area have given more than $2,500 back into the community through their volunteer service.

Way to go, Target!
