Becoming a parent can be overwhelming. That's why at the Women THRIVE Conference, hosted by MichBusiness on Feb. 2, attendees took time to give back to new parents.
More than 350 conference attendees volunteered and helped put together 200 care packages for new parents. Packages included infant thermometers, safety nail clippers, newborn hats and mittens, receiving blankets and a handwritten notes of encouragement to new moms.
The care packages will be distributed through St. John's hospital in Detroit as well as through United Way's Child Development partners.
