EnhanceFitness
March 2—April 30, 2015 8 week class - Mon, Tues, Thurs 10:00—11:00am
Cost: $22 for MSHL members $28 for non-members
EnhanceFitness is an evidence-based health promotion exercise program that has been designed, studied, and proven effective at improving overall functional fitness and well-being. It is primarily geared toward older adults, although all adults are welcome. A certified fitness instructor leads classes three times a week focusing on cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, flexibility and balance training. All of the movements are designed to accommodate mobility limitations while providing an excellent “whole body “ work-out.
Tai Chi for Balance
March 4 - April 29, 2015 8 week class - Wednesdays 9:00—10:00am
Cost: $32 for MSHL members $40 for non-members
Tai Chi for Health & Balance is a low-impact and relaxing form of exercise, designed to help improve balance with regular practice. Instructor Darryl Mickens has been studying Tai Chi for over 20 years and has been teaching Tai Chi at the Ann Arbor YMCA for over 15 years.
Gentle Yoga
March 5 - April 30, 2015 8 week class—Thursdays 9:00 -10:00am
Cost: $32 for MSHL members $40 for non-members
Enjoy the benefits of Yoga in a safe, gentle program. Increase flexibility, range of motion, and core strength. This program is adaptable to your abilities. In addition to a good stretch, participants can also enjoy other health benefits of yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, reduction of stress, better sleep, and a sense of well-being.
Tap Dance
Feb 3—April 14, 2015 11 week class - Tuesdays 9:00—9:45am

Use your feet, tap to the beat, fitness is within reach. Our instructor, Margaret Nichols, is the beloved tap teaching icon of Milan.
Jazz Dance

Walk Michigan Wineries
January-November - Mondays 2:00-3:00pm
Cost: $40 for the year for MSHL members/ $50 for nonmembers Members may choose to sign up for a half year for $25. (Jan 26—June 16 or June 23—November 30) if that option better fits their schedule.
This time we will start in Grand Marais, spend the year walking back to Milan and will explore our state’s numerous wineries. Michigan has a rich and varied history in wine production and is established in the acclaimed international wine community for producing award wining wines unique to our region. This motivational walking program will have the additional twist of learning about (and occasionally tasting) Michigan wines, as well as learning so much more about wine making and our local Michigan wineries.
Exercise Room
Hours of operation: Mon.–Fri. 8am–3pm
Free with membership. Medical release form required.
One of the perks of being a member here at MSHL is the use of our exercise room. We have treadmills, bicycles, elliptical, a stair stepper, a cardio glide and a recumbent bike, along with some free weights.
