The Growing Hope Mobile Farm Stand expands points of fresh food access so that people with the greatest health inequities have equal opportunities to access fresh, affordable food. The Mobile Farm Stand not only improves access, but provides opportunities for engagement and education around purchasing and preparing seasonally available produce.
Growing Hope is looking for volunteers to help operate the Farm Stand at both 2019 locations: Clark East Towers and Chidester Place Apartments.
For this volunteer opportunity we will meet at Chidester Place Apartments, set up the Farm Stand, sell produce, and talk to residents about local produce and recipes. We'll then drive back to the the Ypsilanti Farmers MarketPlace to unload the unsold produce into our coolers so it can be donated the next day.
This opportunity is great for folks that like to talk about food!
Volunteers must have their own transportation.
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
