MOBILE TRAILER RESTOCK: July 2026 - Mobile Community Choice Market - 15000 W 8 Mile

Description

THIS IS AN IN/OUTDOOR OPPORTUNITY LOCATED AT THE BACK OF OUR DISTRIBUTION CENTER

Forgotten Harvest is looking for volunteers to help get the Community Choice Mobile Trailer ready for clients. Forgotten Harvest’s Community Choice Mobile Trailer will allow those in need to select their own food instead of receiving a prepacked or standard bag of groceries. With this method, those in need do not have to take items they already have, do not like, or cannot eat for health or personal reasons.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the following:

  • Shelving the food items in the proper sections in the client shopping area
  • Helping to dust, wipe shelves, sweep, recycle boxes, and other basic cleaning and organization tasks as needed

This opportunity will occur from Monday-Friday from 2-5:pm. Volunteers must be 16 years or older. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

VOLUNTEERS WILL MEET IN THE MAIN LOBBY FOR A BRIEF ORIENTATION PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SHIFT.

MANDATORY DRESS CODE

  • NO open toe or heel shoes (any kind of shoe exposing feet or any part of the foot. ex. sandals, sling back, Crocs or Ugg Tasmans)

HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION: The safety and well-being of our community, staff and volunteers are important to Forgotten Harvest.

  • If you are sick, FH requests that you refrain from volunteering and stay home until you are recovered.  We respect and honor the rights of any individuals who may prefer to mask when volunteering.
    • Continue personal health etiquette, including frequent handwashing or hand-sanitizing.
