United Way for Southeastern Michigan believes learning begins at birth and that every child is entitled to a nurturing environment and a high-quality education that prepares them for success. We convene schools, community members and business leaders to integrate work-based learning experiences and rigorous academics to put power behind students’ diplomas.
The Career Exploration Fair is a space for high school freshmen throughout the City of Detroit to:

Engage in meaningful activities to plan for life

Interactively engage and build career awareness

Build additional skillsets in real-time that connect life, learning, and high school--as well as college and career pathways
Volunteers are needed to wayfind, help with student check-in, support workshop facilitators, guide students in the Social Media Lab, and engage students in meaningful discussions around their goals for attending the event and workshop attendance.
