Forward Youth is a newfound 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to provide after school opportunities to under-represented youth in the Wayne County Michigan area. Our programming focus areas are financial literacy, mentorship, and enrichment. Learn more about us at forwardyouth.org
We are seeking skilled volunteers to join our Program Development Committee. We are looking for individuals who both have a passionate for youth and experience in the following areas:
- Youth development specialist
- Youth program development/administration
- Curriculum development
- Youth out-of-school time programming
- Teaching
- Or similar a field
Committee Purpose:
The Program Development Committee works to helps to ensure our program offerings are diverse, relevant, enriching, engaging, community-oriented, and properly meeting student needs.
Committee Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that programming is aligned and consistent with the organizational purpose and mission.
- Provide guidance that strengthens the academic and social-emotional quality of programming.
- Recommend various financial literacy curriculums that can be delivered via in-person and/or online.
- Seek out and connect the organization with community partners who are interested in facilitating club offering both in-person and online.
- Provide advice for conducting, analyzing, and improving upon annual program evaluations and quality assessments.
- Give suggested direction regarding program improvement.
- Provide advice for conducting and analyzing student, family, school, and staff, engagement surveys.
- Give guidance on how to best utilize feedback from annual engagement surveys and program evaluations.
- Investigate various systems or platforms that would simplify general program logistics.
- Identify missing programmatic policies and processors that need to be adopted.
- Engage in advocacy and networking.
- Participate in annual special events and other org-wide fundraising activities.
- Develop an annual calendar for the committee’s activities, including critical dates, milestones and required board actions.
- Provide the Board with reports summarizing the PCC’s activities from the previous year and plans for the year to come.
- Provide report out during full Board meetings (Committee Chair)
Member Expectations:
- Attend and participate in regular Committee meetings
- Come prepared to participate and engage
Time Commitment:
- 4-5 hours per month (include meeting and outreach events)
