Community Care Resources: The Overjoyed Organizer

The Overjoyed Organizer This person’s t-shirt drawer looks like a clothing store ad. Their kitchen food pantry is categorized and labeled, and their bathroom cabinets have no products from circa 1999.  They are natural born organizers and understand how order supports efficiency.  This volunteer opportunity supports our donated clothing closet, non-perishable food pantry, our parenting and diaper program, and our distribution of hygiene products we keep stocked for our clients. See three volunteer positions that fit within this category below. 

Stocking/Organizing  

• Helps maintain a clean, stocked, and welcoming environment for clients  
• Works within our food pantry, clothing room, and health and wellness room  

Forgotten Harvest Delivery Set Up and Distribution  

• Needs to be able to lift and arrange tables and chairs  
• Set up for food distribution to community members  
• Distribute food to community onsite at Crossroads  

Donation / Loading Dock Keeper  

• Dedicated to receiving, documenting (receipts when donors drop off items), sorting, and stocking donations of food and clothing that come in each day   
• Assists in keeping track of the inventory in the cleaning supply storage area   
• Ensures food stored downstairs is rotated
